Eleven Girl Scouts from Park Rapids, Brainerd, Duluth and St. Cloud traveled to Costa Rica. The group toured a coffee plantation in the foothills of Poás Volcano. Costa Rica is famed for its savory coffee, grown in nutrient-rich, volcanic soil. Each region of the country produces a distinctive flavor, much like Italy and its wines.

Park Rapids Junior Scout Troop #330 participated in kayaking, canoeing, kickboxing, tie-dying, buddy burner cooking, crafts and rifle shooting while at camp. Brownie Scouts from Park Rapids Troop #408 learned about bugs, bubbleology, zumba, watercolor painting, stick cookery and much more.

Girl Scouts team up with Kids Against Hunger: The mission of Kids Against Hunger, a Minnesota-based, humanitarian food-aid organization, is to significantly reduce the number of starving children in the U.S. and throughout the world.
