Girl Scout Troop 330 of Park Rapids recently constructed homemade gingerbread houses, which were donated to the Heritage Living Center as festive centerpieces. The troop also sang Christmas carols to nursing home residents and delivered handmade Christmas cards. Area Girl Scout troops hosted a chili and soup fundraising dinner last Saturday at the Eagles Club in Park Rapids. The event featured live music and dancing, along with good eats. Above Danielle White proudly displayed the dessert tray. More than 200 were served. (Sarah Smith / Enterprise)

Local Daisy, Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts gathered Saturday at the Shingobee Recreation Area, just east of Akeley, for a day-long camp. Activities centered around the theme "The Earth Matters to Girl Scouts." Smokey Bear's visit was a highlight. Participants showed their appreciation by giving Smokey a box of Girl Scout cookies.
