Ryan and Josie Muirhead, Roseau, Minn., display the massive rack of a bull elk this past December. The rack, which scored 458 4/8 after the mandatory 60-day drying period, has been confirmed as No. 4 in the world by two measurers from Boone and Crockett. The bull died in mid-December, a couple of days after Muirhead and others helped free its antlers, which became lodged in mud when the animal tripped and landed on its back trying to cross a fence in northern Kittson County.
