The Nevis baseball team belted out 28 hits and scored 18 runs to defeat Bagley 8-7 Friday and Isle 10-3 Saturday at the Nevis tournament.
Bagley led 6-2 before the Tigers scored four times in the fourth to tie the game and twice in the seventh to pull off the win.
Sam Hitchcock went 3 for 4 with two RBI, Luke DeWulf went 2 for 4, Dan Mistic went 2 for 4 and Andrew Dudley went 2 for 2 with an RBI to pace the Tigers' 12-hit offensive attack. Adam Thompson scored two runs while Jack DeWulf, Shep Davis, Jack Landquist, Mistic, Hitchcock and Dillon McGee scored a run each. Landquist and Tucker Roehl also had an RBI apiece while Jack DeWulf and Thompson had two stolen bases each.
Dudley earned the win in relief, allowing one run on five hits with four strikeouts over the final 4.1 innings. Luke DeWulf started and gave up six runs on four hits with five walks.
A five-run third inning and 16-hit attack powered the Tigers past Isle in the championship game.
Isle scored three times in the top of the third before Nevis took control as a three-run fifth inning sealed the win.
Jack DeWulf went 3 for 4 with a run and an RBI, Luke DeWulf went 3 for 4 with two runs and an RBI, Mistic went 3 for 3 with two runs, and McGee went 2 for 3 with two RBI. Roehl scored a run and had an RBI and Hitchcock scored a run and had two RBI. Dudley also drove in a pair while Landquist and Thompson scored a run each.
Jack DeWulf picked up the win, allowing three runs on five hits with five strikeouts over five innings. Thompson pitched the final two innings, allowing one hit and striking out three.
The two wins lifted Nevis to 6-2 on the season. Isle fell to 3-5 while Bagley is now 4-5.
