Green Wave wins close matches in 7-0 victory

East Grand Forks prevailed in three close matches to seal a 7-0 win over the Park Rapids boys tennis team in a Section 8A match Tuesday afternoon at East Grand Forks.

Nick Lopez lost a second-set tiebreaker at No. 3 singles, Jeff Dickinson dropped a close first set at No. 4 singles, and Josh Johnson and Jaden Olson dropped a second-set tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles to lead the Panthers.

The loss dropped Park Rapids to 0-4 in dual meets this season while East Grand Forks evened its record at 1-1.

No. 1 singles: Ty Misialek, EGF, over Chris Shaw 6-0, 6-0.

No. 2 singles: Zach Straw, EGF, over Calvin Bateman 6-0, 6-1.

No. 3 singles: A.J. Albaaj, EGF, over Nick Lopez 6-3, 7-6.

No. 4 singles: Eli Croaker, EGF, over Jeff Dickinson 7-5, 6-3.

No. 1 doubles: Alex Havis/Eddie Eades, EGF, over Scott Smith/Mitch Fossen 6-2, 6-2.

No. 2 doubles: Ben Campos/Tyler Wertziema, EGF, over Josh Johnson/Jaden Olson 6-2, 7-6.

No. 3 doubles: Chris Peterson/Scott Seyler, EGF, over Iain Wallace/Jackson Kimball 6-0, 6-0.
