Dan Ricke threw a five-hitter and was one of five players with two RBI as the Park Rapids baseball team snapped a four-game losing streak with a 10-2 win over Thief River Falls Tuesday at the Area High School field.

An error and Ricke's sacrifice fly scored Sam Coborn and Tucker Coborn in the first. Kevin McMorrow's two-run single scored Jack Mercado and Paul Dirks in the second. A single by McMorrow and a double by Cory Odland set up Dan Pike's two-run single in the third as the Panthers claimed a 6-0 lead.

Walks to Sam Coborn and Tucker Coborn, a single by Ricke, an error and Levi Erickson's two-run single highlighted a four-run fifth as the Panthers led 10-1.

Ricke struck out six and walked two in a complete-game effort. McMorrow went 3 for 4 while Tucker Coborn, Mercado and Erickson had two hits each as the Panthers improved to 5-8.

Errors cost Panthers

Errors helped Pelican Rapids score twice in the second, twice in the third, twice in the fourth and three times in the sixth for a 9-2 win over the Panthers Monday at Pelican Rapids.

The Panthers scored in the second on Ricke's lead-off double and Nick Belfiori's two-out single.

Ricke doubled to lead off the sixth and scored the Panthers' other run on Ryan Peterson's RBI single.

Ricke went 3 for 3 as the Panthers were held to only six hits. Mercado started and took the loss. Odland finished up. Those two combined for 11 strikeouts and four earned runs on seven hits and seven walks.

The Panthers, who traveled to Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton for a game Thursday, will host Fergus Falls Monday.
