TRF shuts out Panthers

Jaden Olson returned a shot during Tuesday’s match against Thief River Falls.

     Thief River Falls won all seven matches in straight sets in a 7-0 win over the Park Rapids boys tennis team Tuesday at the Depot Courts.

     Calvin Bateman won four games at No. 1 singles, Bobby Bruce won three games at No. 2 singles and Iain Wallace won three games at No. 4 singles for the Panthers, who fell to 0-5 in dual meets this season.

     Thief River Falls is rated No. 9 in the latest state Class A poll.

No. 2 singles: Brady Nessen, TRF, over Bobby Bruce 6-2, 6-1.

No. 3 singles: Isaac Olson, TRF, over Marcus McKeever 6-0, 6-0.

No. 4 singles: Cole Gillespe, TRF, over Iain Wallace 6-3, 6-0.
