Panthers' doubles teams push EGF into tiebreakers

     A sweep in singles led East Grand Forks to a 6-1 win over the Park Rapids boys tennis team Tuesday at the Choice Fitness Center in Grand Forks.

     Calvin Bateman and Jeff Dickinson prevailed in a third-set tiebreaker at No. 1 doubles for the Panthers’ lone win.

     Nick Lopez and Jaden Olson lost in a third-set tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles while Alex Boyd and Marcus McKeever lost in a third-set tiebreaker at No. 3 doubles as the Panthers fell to 0-3 in dual meets this spring. 

     East Grand Forks improved to 1-2 in duals.

No. 1 singles: Ty Misialek, EGF, over Iain Wallace 6-0, 6-0.

No. 2 singles: Zach Straw, EGF, over Bobby Bruce 6-0, 6-0.

No. 3 singles: Jacob Cote, EGF, over Tristan Hendrickson 6-1, 6-3.

No. 4 singles: Dean Rhen, EGF, over Andrew Zinke 6-0, 6-0.

No. 1 doubles: Calvin Bateman/Jeff Dickinson, PR, over Ben Campos/Hunter Zeman 7-5, 2-6, 11-9.

No. 2 doubles: Brandon Johnson/John Gander, EGF, over Nick Lopez/Jaden Olson 6-3, 2-6, 10-5.

No. 3 doubles: Peyton Bechhold/Matt Cummings, EGF, over Alex Boyd/Marcus McKeever 4-6, 6-0, 10-6.
