Panthers outshoot Flyers 73-7 in 14-0 rout

     Five players scored two goals apiece as the Park Rapids-Menahga-Nevis-Walker-Hackensack-Akeley boys hockey team held a 73-7 advantage in shots on goal in a dominating 14-0 rout over Bagley/Fosston Friday night at Bagley.

     Raul Garcia, Luke Jaeger, Matt DeLaHunt, Noah MacPherson and Lucas Pritchett scored two goals apiece while MacPherson (four) and Bailey Mueller (three) combined for seven assists as nine different players scored goals and seven different players had assists.

     Garcia scored twice, Jamie Stewart and MacPherson had power-play goals, and Craig Walters added a goal as the Panthers jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first period. The Panthers held a 28-4 advantage in shots in the opening period.

     Two goals apiece by Jaeger and DeLaHunt and goals by Chase Brand and Connor Kennedy pushed the lead to 11-0 after the second period. The Panthers held a 23-1 advantage in shots in that period.

     MacPherson opened the third period with a goal before Pritchett tallied his first career goal on a power play. Pritchett later concluded the scoring as the Panthers held a 22-2 advantage in shots in the third period.

     Goalie Cody Brumbaugh stopped all seven shots he faced as the Panthers improved to 1-1 on the season.
