  Mariena Dearstyne and Hannah Williams finished in the top five spots in leading the Park Rapids girls golf team to fourth place at Monday’s Park Rapids Invitational at Headwaters Country Club.

     Dearstyne earned runner-up honors with an 88 while Williams tied for fifth place with a 91 as the Panthers carded a 397 in their season debut.

     Riley Kimball’s 108 and Alyza Edevold’s 110 rounded out Park Rapids’ team score.

     Bemidji topped the 12-team field with a 386 while Roseau (395) and Moorhead (396) followed. Moorhead’s Mandy Boyle earned medalist honors with a 79.

     United North Central fielded an incomplete team. Tasha Maninga tied for third with an 89 while Laura Niska carded a 101 and Ally Ohlgren shot a 103 for the Warriors.

Panthers coast in conference debut

     Dearstyne carded an even-par 36 and Williams followed with a 38 as the Panthers dominated the Northern Pines Conference opener Tuesday at HCC.

     Dana McDonald added a 53 as the Panthers carded a three-player score of 127.

     Nevis used a 48 by McKenzie Harris, a 49 by Olivia Toft and a 66 by Samantha Wormley to finish second with a 163.
