Noah MacPherson's hat trick and three assists sparked the Park Rapids-Menahga-Nevis-Walker-Hackensack-Akeley boys hockey team to a 7-1 Mid-State Conference win over Wadena-Deer Creek Thursday night at the Ted O. Johnson Ice Arena.

MacPherson and Frank Moren assisted on a goal by Ian Johnson just 34 seconds into the game before Johnson and Ryan DeLaHunt set up MacPherson at the 11:57 mark as the Panthers jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Each team had 10 shots on goal in the opening period.

MacPherson's power-play goal at the 11:39 mark extended the Panthers' lead to 3-0. After Christian Berg's power-play goal at the 14:23 mark cut the gap to 3-1, Moren scored twice within a span of 1:32 to give the Panthers a 5-1 advantage.
