The Wolf Lake amateur baseball team saw its record fall to 7-7 with a pair of home losses last Sunday afternoon.

Staples scored single runs in the sixth and seventh innings for a 6-4 win in the first Lake and Pine League game last Sunday. Wolf Lake used a three-run fifth inning to tie the game at 4-4 before Staples pulled off the win.

In the second game at Wolf Lake last Sunday, Nevis scored four times in the first and three times in the fourth to spark a 9-4 victory.

After Nevis jumped out to a 4-0 lead, Dylan Walsh's RBI double and Craig Pudas' sacrifice fly pulled Wolf Lake to within 4-3 in the third. Nick Stenberg's two-run single helped push Nevis' lead to 7-3 in the fourth as the North Stars prevailed.

Nevis defeated Staples 12-3 last Saturday while Wolf Lake suffered an 8-4 loss to Verndale on June 24. Pudas went 2 for 3 in that game as Wolf Lake was held to only six hits.
