Detroit Lakes posts 7-0 win over Panthers

Nick Lopez and Josh Johnson pushed their opponents to three sets in Park Rapids' 7-0 Mid-State Conference boys tennis loss at Detroit Lakes Thursday.

Lopez won the first set before falling at No. 3 singles while Johnson won a second-set tiebreaker in a loss at No. 4 singles.

The Lakers won the other five matches in straight sets in improving to 2-6 on the season. The loss dropped the Panthers to 1-1 in conference matches and 1-6 overall.

No. 1 singles: Isaac Fondrick, DL, over Chris Shaw 6-2 6-0.

No. 2 singles: Alex Fondrick, DL, over Mitch Fossen 6-1, 6-0.

No. 3 singles: Cody Jordan, DL, over Nick Lopez 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.

No. 4 singles: Austin Nelson, DL, over Josh Johnson 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 10-5.

No. 1 doubles: Derick Brehm/Ethan Brekke, DL, over Jeff Dickinson/Calvin Bateman 6-1, 6-2.

No. 2 doubles: Thomas Warweg/Cade Benson, DL, over Iain Wallace/Alex Boyd 6-3, 6-1.

No. 3 doubles: Cody Knopf/Chandler Hanks, DL, over Jaden Olson/Jackson Kimball 6-1, 6-3.
