New head coach has high expectations for entire Menahga volleyball program

Isaiah Hahn has high expectations as the new head coach of the Menahga volleyball team.

Several players return from last year's team that went 1-7 in Park Region Conference play and 4-21-1 overall.

"I am really excited about this opportunity," said Hahn, who will be assisted by Caroline Schik and Steve Schreiber. "I am going into this challenge and the responsibility that comes with being a head coach head on. I have high expectations for this season and our entire volleyball program."

Leading the Braves this season will be senior hitters Lindsey White and Amelia Pho. White earned all-conference honors while Pho was an all-conference honorable mention player last season.

Also being counted on to earn starting spots and provide depth off the bench are seniors Heather Brostrom (defensive specialist) and Christina Butler (right-side hitter); juniors Delanie Weyer (setter), Arielle Pihlaja (middle hitter), Beth Tormanen (outside hitter) and Kelsey Christofferson (right-side hitter); sophomores Tarah Cleveland (libero) and Erika Lopez (setter); and freshman Jenny Skoog (middle hitter).

"We are a pretty young squad, but I am really looking forward to some great senior leadership. Amelia and Lindsey will be the anchors for our young team," said Hahn. "One of my highest expectations is to work, play and perform as a team both on and off the court. If we can do this, the sky's the limit. I believe the keys to meeting these expectations are confidence, teamwork and communication. I am really going to emphasize that this year. If we can put all these keys together as a team, the wins will come."
