Panthers ace Mid-State foe for 4-1 mark

For the second time this season, the Park Rapids boys tennis team blanked Wadena-Deer Creek in a Mid-State Conference dual meet.

The Panthers dropped only nine games in the four singles matches to spark a 7-0 win Tuesday at Wadena.

Ryan Kent, Alex Renner, Steve Smith and Scott Smith all won their singles matches in straight sets.

Mike Atneosen and Max Brown didn't lose a game at No. 3 doubles while Kyle Dickinson and James Kujawa lost only four games at No. 2 doubles. Ted Tiffany and Kirt Leadbetter completed the sweep with a three-set win at No. 1 doubles.

The Panthers improved to 4-1 against conference opponents and 4-6 overall. W-DC fell to 0-5 against conference teams and 0-9 overall.
