Wallace, Jorgenson tee up all-conference honors

Park Rapids' Olivia Wallace and Bjorn Jorgenson received all-conference honors by placing in the top-seven spots at Monday's Mid-State Conference golf meet hosted by Pequot Lakes at The Preserve.

Wallace carded a 90 on the par-72 course to finish seventh overall and lead the Park Rapids girls to third place with a season-low 380 while Jorgenson carded a 78 to finish fourth overall as the Panthers finished fifth in the boys meet with a 353.

Detroit Lakes swept the conference titles for the ninth year in a row as the Lakers captured the girls title with a 324 while the DL boys carded a 314 to win the Mid-State title for the 25th consecutive season.

Joining Wallace with sub-100 rounds for the Park Rapids girls were Madison Johnson with a 94, Chloe Johnson with a 97 and Olivia McDonald with a 99. Madison Johnson received all-conference honorable mention honors. Olivia Ulvin added a 114 and Kinley Nordin carded a 116 as the Panthers topped their previous season best of 396.

Detroit Lakes' Maddie Herzog earned medalist honors with a 74 while teammate Anna Cihak was the runner-up with a 78. Staples-Motley's Alix Peterson was third with an 84 while DL's Shelby Busker was fourth with an 84 and DL's Mckenna Mallow finished fifth with an 88. S-M's Adriana Dickey was sixth with an 88.

Following Jorgenson for the Park Rapids boys were Tate Usher with an 86, Luke Kosel with a 91 and Cody Dravis with a 98. Blake Higgins added a 110.

Detroit Lakes also placed four golfers in the top-seven spots to repeat as conference champs. Crosby-Ironton's Cayden Turk led the field with a 75 while DL's Wyatt Blomseth (77) and Ryan Paskey (78) followed. DL's Ben Unruh's 79, S-M's Beck Erholtz's 80 and DL's Collin Ginnaty's 80 rounded out the top-seven spots.
