Menahga girls lock up conference title

Megan Hendrickson's 23 points, 12 rebounds and six steals helped the Menahga girls basketball team lock up the Park Region Conference title with a 67-33 win over Pillager Monday night at Menahga.

Cierra Ahlf added 20 points, nine rebounds and three steals as the Braves remained undefeated on the season. Alyssa Peterson also hit double figures with 14 points and Tara Hendrickson had three assists as Menahga improved to 12-0 in the conference and 19-0 overall. The Braves, who defeated Pillager 79-39 on Jan. 16, coasted to the win despite making only 4 of 24 3-pointers and missing 13 of 24 free throws.

Hailea Books and Maggie Schmit combined for 14 points for the Huskies, who fell to 2-10 in the conference and 6-16 overall.

Sebeka sits in second place in the conference standings at 8-3 while Henning, New York Mills and Wadena-Deer Creek are all 6-5.
