Braves struggle offensively in 50-41 victory over NYM

Despite struggling on the offensive end, the Menahga girls basketball team remained undefeated on the season with a 50-41 Park Region Conference victory over New York Mills Tuesday night at New York Mills.

The Braves prevailed despite shooting only 30 percent from the field (17 for 56, including 2 for 19 on 3-pointers) and missing 14 of 28 free throws while turning the ball over 19 times.

Alyssa Peterson scored 19 points and had nine steals while Cierra Ahlf scored 10 points. Megan Hendrickson and Tara Hendrickson combined for 18 points, 19 rebounds and six assists as the Braves improved to 10-0 in the conference and 17-0 overall. Menahga remained in the No. 5 spot in this week's state Class A poll.
