Park Rapids took advantage of 13 walks, nine wild pitches, three hit batters, three errors and a balk to defeat Bertha-Hewitt 15-5 in five innings Monday.

Singles by Johnson, Eystad and McCollum sparked a three-run first inning before four walks, three hit batters, six wild pitches and McCollum’s RBI single produced four runs in the second for a 7-0 lead.

RBI doubles by Josh Severtson and Sam Ness and a single by Paul Prenevost led to four more runs in the fourth before the Legion ended this game early via the 10-run rule by scoring four more runs in the fifth. Four walks, a hit batter, two errors, and RBI singles by Chris Goplerud and Bade sealed the win.

Dirks went the distance, allowing five runs on 10 hits with seven strikeouts.
