The 33rd annual Headwaters 100 bicycle ride is Saturday, Sept. 28.

The annual ride includes 100-, 75- and 45-mile rides throughout Hubbard County.

Registration is from 7 to 9 a.m. at Century School Park Rapids. Cyclists must leave for the ride by 9 a.m.

The 100-mile ride goes past the Mississippi headwaters and follows Wilderness Drive through the park. The ride then goes through Lake George, Emmaville, Dorset and Nevis, and will then take the Heartland Trail to the finish at the Park Rapids Century School.

The 75-mile ride will go throughout Itasca State Park on Wilderness Drive, and follow the path toward the Park Rapids Century School by way of Lake George, Emmaville and Dorset. The 75-mile ride will end on the Heartland Trail.

The 45-mile ride will pass through Emmaville and Nevis, and end at the Century School in Park Rapids.

All leisurely bikers are encouraged to start early.

One of the highlights of the ride is the rest stops along the way. Mantrap Valley Conservation is the soup stop, which is a favorite of many riders.

Facilities will also be available at food stops as well as at the finish line.

A Q&A is available on the Itascatur website for cyclists wanting more information about the event. Maps and additional information are also available at www.itas
