Letter: More political misinformation
On CBS Fargo, North Dakota television network the Judicial Crisis Network is airing an ad regarding President Obama’s recent selection for the next United States Supreme Court Justice, Merrick Garland. Part of the ad says, "let the people decide."
According to the United States Constitution, the law of our country, U.S. Supreme Court Justices are nominated by the President and confirmed by the U.S. Senate. If you have Internet connection then go on Google and put in: How Supreme Court Justices are appointed. You will find out that our Supreme Court Justices are nominated by the President and then must undergo a series of hearings where they answer many questions presented by the Senate Judiciary Committee which can then vote to send the candidate to face the full United States Senate. After subsequent hearings, if the U.S. Senate confirms this candidate, then the President formally appoints the candidate to the Supreme Court. The people of the United States do NOT get to decide!
By the way, get on the Internet and look up the 5 Myths About Illegal Immigrants getting Social Security benefits and welfare. Really surprised me.
