Roger Charles Patton

Roger Charles Patton, 81, of Park Rapids, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at his home. Born in Lamoure, North Dakota, he grew up in Hutchinson, Minnesota, raised his family in Fridley and retired to his rural home on Lake Ida.

Roger served in the U.S. Navy and was in the Navy Reserves.

He was a lifetime member of the Free Masons Society.

Roger performed as an operatic tenor, winning the Metropolitan Opera Regionals in Minnesota. He performed in New York, St. Louis, Los Angeles and Minneapolis. Roger was the opening act for the Robert Goulet Show, as well as performing on radio shows in St. Louis and in many night clubs and on talk shows.

He was an avid golfer and dedicated member of the Headwaters Country Club for many years, winning Club Championships three times. He also hit 9 holes in one on this beloved course.

He loved nature and supported the Nature Conservancy.

Roger was extremely proud of his two children, Elizabeth Elliot of Pasadena, California and Alden Patton, of Blaine, Minnesota, and of his two grandsons, Zac and Rhett. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 27 from 5:00-8:00 in the Cedar Room of the Majestic Oaks Golf Course (701 Bunker Lake Blvd., NE, Andover, MN 55304).
