Betty Rose (Corliss) Dyck

Betty Rose (Corliss) Dyck, passed away with her loved ones present at Fair Oaks Lodge, Wadena, MN. Betty was born February 4, 1930 in Sharpsburg, Iowa to Walter and Rosetta (Duey) Corliss. Her childhood was spent in Taylor County on the farm. She attended country school and graduated Bedford, IA 1948. She received her teaching certificate from Northwest Missouri State College and Associate in Arts in Business from Eastern New Mexico University. Betty taught country school and was a bookkeeper. She married her 3rd husband Melvin Crandall and became a farm wife and mother raising their seven children on farms in Dodge Center, MN and Gravity, IA. She lived in Roswell, NM for a time and later northwestern Louisiana where she retired from International Paper. Her golden years were spent residing with her children in Nevis, MN. She was an avid reader, loved antiques, gardening, cooking, sewing, being on the farm, and listening to music. She was a member of the Christian Church and East Mission Church both in Bedford, IA, and the First United Methodist in Cotton Valley, LA. Betty is survived by her children: Nancy (Stan) Beug of Golden, CO, Dale (Linda) Crandall of Wasilla, AK, Larry Crandall, Julie Crandall, Paul Crandall, Joseph Crandall all of Nevis, MN; her brother, Don (Kathy) Corliss of Shreveport, LA; brother in law Bob Ratcliff, Pensacola, FL; 10 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jean Ratcliff; her son, Rodney Crandall; husbands: Milo Johnson, Clyde Sorensen, Melvin Crandall and Burnice Dyck. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home, Park Rapids, with Tim Pearson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
