Phyllis (Peterson) Semmler, 90 of Akeley quietly slipped into eternal rest on Friday, Nov. 10th, 2017. Phyllis was born on July 25, 1927 in Fairfax, MN to Andrew and Florence (Youngs) Peterson. Phyllis Grew up on a farm between Akeley and Walker and graduated from Walker High School. She Worked at Munsingwear in the cities for over a year before getting married to Ewald Semmler on May 15, 1949. Ewald and Phyllis raised five children on a farm near Chamberlain and later moved to a home outside of Akeley.
She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church of Akeley and was also a life member of the VFW Auxiliary 8508.
Phyllis is survived by two sons: Ronald (Nancy) Semmler and Gary Semmler of Akeley; 2 daughters: Beverly (David) Rungquist of Akeley and Doris (Karl) Wettschreck of Bemidji; Brother Howard (Elaine) Peterson of Akeley; two sisters: Betty (Richard) Young of Spokane, WA and Sharon McMahon of Akeley; five Grandchildren: Brian, Kimberly, Ricky, Amy and Curtis; three Great Granddaughters: Aliyana, Marie and Elaine; Plus many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ewald; daughter Diane and a brother Frank.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Akeley, MN. with visitation starting one hour prior.
