Carol Lynn Wehrer, 74, of Park Rapids, Minnesota and Zapata, Texas, passed away peacefully at home after a battle with pancreatic cancer on Friday, June 9th 2017. She was comforted by her husband, Gary, daughters, and grandchildren.
Carol was born August 26, 1942, in Benson, MN, to Ardell and Georgine Nelson. Her early years were spent on farms near Murdock and Pennock and in Willmar where her parents built and operated a small store and deli. The family moved to a farm near Kerkhoven where Carol graduated from high school in 1960. She graduated from St. Cloud State College with a degree in education. She worked at various jobs in St. Cloud; her main vocation being a loving wife and excellent mother.
Carol married David Wilson in 1963 and they had two daughters, Kelly and Kimberly. She later married Jerry Anderson who preceded her in death, and then married Gary Wehrer in September 1991.
Carol is survived by her husband, Gary, two daughters, Kelly (Jeremy) Lanctot and Kimberly Douvier. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren: Jedd, Eli (Jenny), Reuben (Hannah), Samantha, Ezra, Benjamin, Moriah (Brian), Amanda, Isaac, Abigail and Gabriel, and great Grandchildren: Quintus, Roselyn, Luke, Frayah, and Evalyn. Carol is also survived by a sister, Karen (Steve) Jensen of Owatonna, and two brothers, Carlton (Marsha) Nelson of Kerkhoven and James Nelson of Murdock, plus several nieces and nephews.
Carol was a good friend to many. Her kindness, generosity, and fun personality will be greatly missed.
A memorial gathering is being planned for July 8th in Park Rapids, Minnesota.
