Norbert "Norb" Eugene Husby, 77, of Park Rapids, MN died on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at his home.

Norbert was born on November 22, 1939 at home on the family farm in Prairie Farm Township, WI, where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1958. He attended the Dunwoody Institute for electrical technician. In 1964, he was married to Carol A. Stroot of Wadena, MN. He worked for Athens Light and Rosemont Engineering before deciding to change careers. He purchased a woodworking shop in 1977 in Park Rapids, MN. He made beautiful wood pieces and cabinets for local businesses and people of the area. He taught evening woodworking classes through Community Education for 7 years. He loved hunting and fishing and telling his grandchildren about his hunting stories. He enjoyed many trips out West and up to Canada. He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids, MN.

He is survived by his wife - Carol A. (Stroot) of 53 years; three sons - Alan (Abbey) Husby of St. Joseph, MN; Kevin Husby of St. Stephen, MN; Steven (Corrie Boulay) of Annapolis, MD; one daughter - Dori (Scott) Plakke of Cosmos, MN; twelve grandchildren - Kaily (Joe) Blenkush, Jacy, Alyssa, Landon, Lexis, Aleck, Courtney, Mina, Nate, Samantha; four great grandchildren - Destiny, Carter, Stella, and Ryker. Survived by many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Hazel and Peder Husby, two sisters - Judy and Arlis; Grandaughter - Tiffany.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids, MN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2017 from 5 until 7 PM at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Park Rapids, with prayer services at 7 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Rev. Fr. Thomas Friedl will be Celebrant. Interment will be held at the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Cemetery in Park Rapids, MN. Condolences can be left at ceasefuneralhome.com.
