Panthers, Tigers, Warriors rated in state polls
Park Rapids earned a spot in this week's state Class AA volleyball poll while Nevis and United North Central returned to this week's state football polls.
The Panthers received 21 votes in this week's state volleyball poll after opening the season with a 5-0 record. Maple Lake topped the Class AA poll with 195 votes while Stewartville (180), Southwest Minnesota Christian (159), Marshall (155), Kasson-Mantorville (128), North Branch (119), Concordia Academy (100), Hill Murray (64), Roseau (46) and Cold Spring Rocori (45) rounded out the top 10 spots.
Nevis was rated No. 8 in this week's state 9-man football poll with 28 votes. Waubun moved to the top of the poll with 70 votes while Cromwell (62), Spring Grove (61), Stephen-Argyle (56), Houston (42), Grand Meadow (29) and Cleveland (29) followed. Ely (25) and Hills Beaver Creek (19) rounded out the top 10. Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal (3) also received votes to tie for the No. 13 spot.
In the state Class AA poll, United North Central received 2 votes for the No. 15 spot. Caledonia topped the Class AA poll with 80 votes while Barnesville (67), Pillager (51), Minneapolis North (50), Maple River (46), Eden Valley-Watkins (36), Hawley (34), Triton (21), Royalton (17) and Chatfield (16) followed.
Perham was rated No. 7 with 25 votes and Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton was rated No. 11 with 7 votes in this week's state Class AAA football poll. St. Croix Lutheran earned the top spot with 83 votes with Rochester Lourdes (79), Pierz (77), Stewartville (56), Jackson County Central (54) and Glencoe-Silver Lake (45) following. Rounding out the top 10 were Holy Family Catholic (19), Fairmont (16) and Annandale (15).
