Rossbach, Simonson featured in MacRostie art exhibition

Two local artists will have work displayed in the MacRostie Art Center's 25th annual Juried Art Exhibition.

Dawn Rossbach and Jeremy Simonson were selected for the honor.

The exhibit includes artists from Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota in both two- and three-dimensional categories. This annual event celebrates variety and rewards excellence among regional artists.

Minnesota Gallery juror Marva Harms will select first, second and third prize awards and present "The Pond Series," her new collection of impressionistic landscapes.

The public is invited to attend the First Friday opening reception on Friday, Aug. 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. Guests will vote to select one artwork for the coveted "People's Choice Award."

Artists Talks begin at 6 p.m. to provide the public with the opportunity to converse with exhibiting artists.

Located in Grand Rapids, MacRostie Art Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to community growth through the arts in northern Minnesota. It has been active for over 50 years.
