Cederstrom named Enterprise editor

Kevin Cederstrom is the new editor of the Park Rapids Enterprise

Kevin Cederstrom is now leading the newsroom staff at the Park Rapids Enterprise.

Cederstrom began his duties as editor this month. He comes to Park Rapids from southwestern North Dakota where he worked as a freelance photojournalist for Forum Communications publications and other national and regional media organizations.

“I’ve known Kevin for some time, and he has an impressive background of photography and writing,” said Mary Brenk, Enterprise publisher. “He brings an enormous amount of talent to the Enterprise. I feel very fortunate to have Kevin coming on board in this very important role.”

Prior to his freelance career, Cederstrom worked as editor of the New York Mills Herald and East Otter Tail Focus (Perham Focus), both Forum Communications newspapers.

After graduating from North Dakota State University in 1996 with a mass communications and photo journalism degree, Cederstrom has built a career in newspapers, which include Minnesota weeklies and North Dakota dailies.

Cederstrom is married to wife, Stacy, and they have three elementary-age daughters who will attend school in Park Rapids next fall. Stacy is currently completing her post-graduate studies to earn a family nurse practitioner degree.

Along with a photography and journalism background, Cederstrom enjoys outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, snowshoeing, lounging around a campfire and general outdoor downtime.

“The Enterprise has a long history as an influential and informative community newspaper, and I look forward to this opportunity,” Cederstrom said. “I’m very happy to join the Park Rapids Enterprise and Forum Communications.”

Cederstrom’s connection to Park Rapids stretches back to his youth.

“I used to visit relatives in the Park Rapids area when I was young and have great memories of swimming in Long Lake, fishing for perch off the bridge, and I always got a kick out of the cars parked in the middle of the street. The last few years I’ve brought my family here on vacations and we love the area. I am very excited to be here and look forward to being involved in this great community.”
