Nevis first grade teacher Amy Klimek, second from right, has been named Teacher of the Year by her peers. “Amy is an amazing individual,”  her colleagues wrote. “She shines as a professional, a classroom teacher and a mentor. Amy consistently demonstrates compassion, self-discipline and dedication. Students in Mrs. Klimek’s class learn the importance of these traits as well as academic skills and information. Not only does Amy expect the best from the children she teaches, she provides them with many strategies, support and encouragement every day. Her patience is contagious; it reminds all of us who are parents and or teachers how important it is to have patience.” She is congratulated by, from left, Janet Golden Landquist, principal John Strom and superintendent  Gregg Parks.
