Detroit Lakes man sentenced for prostitution
Hector Deleon, 47, of 215 Sherman St., Detroit Lakes, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony prostitution -- other prohibited acts -- ages 16-18.
According to court records, on Jan. 2 a 16-year-old girl and her adult relative reported that the girl had received a text message from Deleon offering her $25 for oral sex. When questioned by an investigator, he admitted sending the text message.
He appeared Wednesday before District Judge Joe Evans, who sentenced him to 15 months in prison, execution of sentence stayed five years. He was placed on supervised probation for five years.
He must serve 120 days in jail, with credit for 81 days served. He was fined $1,000 plus court fees and was ordered to get a chemical use assessment and follow the recommendations.
He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and no unsupervised contact with minors. He must register as a predatory offender and is prohibited from coaching softball with players under age 18. He is prohibited from coaching or otherwise participating in the Special Olympics. Community service work was authorized.
