Detroit Lakes man gets two years on drug charge
Gaillin Gene Bergstrom, 47, of 18261 Old Pit Road, Detroit Lakes has been sentenced to two years in prison on a drug charge.
He was sentenced in Becker County District court on a felony count of third degree controlled substance crime, possession.
A charge of fifth-degree controlled substance crime, possession, and a gross misdemeanor charge of driving after his license was revoked were dropped in a plea agreement.
According to court records, Bergstrom and another man were caught with 64 morphine pills in their car after officers pulled them over following an apparent drug sale at Dunton Locks County Park.
He appeared Thursday before District Judge Peter Irvine, who sentenced him to 24 months in prison, to be served concurrently with another file. He was fined $50 plus court fees, to be taken from his prison pay.
