Former Ogema man gets jail time for groping girl
Steven Douglas Flowers, 53, of Thief River Falls has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony harassment.
A felony charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct was dismissed in a plea agreement.
According to court records, he groped a 12-year-old girl last summer who was in bed at her residence in Ogema. He had been scratching her leg and said accidental contact was made when she moved.
On Thursday, District Judge Lisa Borgen sentenced him to 21 months in prison, execution of sentence stayed five years. He was placed on supervised probation for five years.
He must serve 168 days in jail, with credit for 126 days served. He was fined $760 plus court fees, and must register as a predatory offender.
