Cloquet police said they had one suspect in custody and were in the process of arresting two others Wednesday evening in connection with burglaries Monday at two Cloquet homes.

The burglaries took place while residents were sleeping in the early morning hours Monday. Police said Wednesday they identified two suspects after they were caught on video at a convenience store in Forest Lake, Minn., with a vehicle stolen from one of the homes.

The pair also tried using a stolen check card at the store, according to Cloquet police Deputy Chief Terry Hill.

The suspects, two males and one female, are Cloquet residents in their late teens, Detective Darrin Berg said.

Burglars entered two homes late Sunday and early Monday in the Erickson subdivision in north Cloquet while the families were inside sleeping.

The suspects probably spent about 10 to 15 minutes in each home after entering, probably through the garages, Berg said. Though they never entered any rooms with people inside, Berg said "they may have entered into one of the rooms that was in close proximity to one of the kids."

They took electronics and game equipment at both homes, as well as the 2003 Silver Dodge caravan with the license number LLC 917 seen in the surveillance video. They also attempted to steal three cars at another home.

The Cloquet Police Department offered a reward to anyone with information leading to an arrest in the crime. Contact Berg at (218) 879-1247.
