North Fargo man dies after mowing his lawn

A 65-year-old Fargo man died of natural causes Wednesday night after mowing his lawn.

Authorities responded to Harlen Kulland's home in the 200 block of 21st Ave. N. about 7:57 p.m. after a passer-by reported seeing a man down who was unresponsive, Sgt. Mark Lykken said.

Kulland had mowed his lawn, returned the lawn mower to his neighbor and said he didn't think he could do it much longer, Lykken said.

"He then went and collapsed on the sidewalk," Lykken said.

A coroner determined Kulland died of natural causes. The investigation is closed, but a toxicology report has been ordered, which is standard procedure, Lykken said.
