WCCO crew samples Legends festival

Mike Binkley and Liz Collin of WCCO-TV do a live broadcast from Legends and Logging Days in Park Rapids Friday afternoon.

Park Rapids was featured late last week on WCCO-TV and Radio as part of the third annual “Goin’ to the Lake” series, which features the best summertime spots in cabin country.

Mike Binkley and Liz Collin of WCCO-TV and Dave Lee of WCCO Radio were in Park Rapids Aug. 7-8.

Binkley and Collin visited Itasca State Park and the Headwaters of the Mississippi. They spent time at Evergreen Gifts & Fun Park and even tried out the bumper boats.

They attended Water Wars in downtown Park Rapids and did a live broadcast from Zhateau Zorbaz Thursday night.

Friday’s activities included trying out the Character Challenge Course and checking out Legends and Logging Days.

They also caught up with former Dorset Mayor Bobby Tufts to see how he’s doing after his second term ended at this year’s Taste of Dorset.

WCCO-TV and WCCO Radio are visiting 12 of Minnesota and Wisconsin’s best summer spots this summer.

The “Goin’ to the Lake” series highlights all that Minnesota and Western Wisconsin’s have to offer for the outdoor living, whether it be spending time on the water, hiking through the wilderness or experiencing the local cuisine.
