A boy was struck on his bike at a dangerous crosswalk in front of the Park Rapids Burger King restaurant Monday morning.

The boy was taken by ambulance to CHI St. Joseph’s Health as police converged on the busy highway.

The crosswalk warns motorists of pedestrians, but motorists rarely look.

At 11:30 a.m., when the crash occurred, traffic was heavy on Highway 34.

The boy appeared to have a scrape on his back. It was unclear if he was conscious when ambulance crews quickly loaded him for transportation.
