Grand Forks cop delivers baby at woman's home

A Grand Forks police officer helped deliver a baby on Monday, the police department said.

Officer Kris Brown was dispatched to a home at 5383 Circle Drive S. at around 1:20 a.m. When he arrived, he realized there wasn't enough time for medical staff to arrive or for the family to head to the hospital.

According to the department, "Brown assisted in the delivery of this baby, verified the correct placement of the umbilical cord and confirmed the infant's airway was open by making sure the infant's mouth was clear of any objects or fluid."

Baby Maximus Arthur Walden was born 7 pounds and 9 ounces. The department reported that he is a "healthy happy baby boy."
