FARGO – A Fargo man faces felony aggravated domestic assault charges after his mistress claimed he choked her after she intercepted a text message from his wife accusing him of being involved in Sunday’s Stop-N-Go robbery.

Gregory Alan Krutsinger, 36, was charged Monday in Cass County District Court with one count of aggravated domestic assault, a Class C felony.

According to court documents, Fargo police responded to a domestic assault report at 1022 16th St. S. on Monday.

The victim, Leah Garms, told a Fargo police officer that her live-in boyfriend, Krutsinger, choked her after she intercepted a text message on his phone from his wife that stated she thought Krutsinger was the person who robbed a Fargo Stop-N-Go on Sunday.

When Garms asked Krutsinger about the message, he became angry, calling her names and choking her. Krutsinger’s friend was there, and also choked Garms, she said. Then, both men left the apartment.

Krutsinger, who court documents say also lives with his wife in Dilworth, was located by Dilworth police later in the day.

He told police he and his friend were at Garms’ house earlier in the day, but denied assaulting Garms, according to a police report.

Krutsinger also told police Garms often makes things up and calls the police.

Police are not looking at Krutsinger in connection with Sunday’s Stop-N-Go robbery because the description of Krutsinger and the suspect do not match, police Lt. Joel Vettel said.

A warrant was issued for Krutsinger’s arrest.
