Century students give history lesson as tribute to veterans

Park Rapids Century Middle School held the annual Veterans Day program Friday under the direction of retired teachers Charli Cohrs and LaPalma Anderson. Students in grades 5-8 wore military uniforms and provided a history lesson to those in attendance as a tribute to veterans.

The Park Rapids American Legion Color Guard posted and retired the Colors, along with the American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion. Included in this year's program was patriotic music, history of Old Glory, flag folding ceremony, "Taps,", an armed services march and concluded with everyone singing "God Bless America."
