Learning about your woodlands presented Aug. 22 in Park Rapids

“Learning about Your Woodlands” is a free program presented by the Headwaters Chapter of the Minnesota Forestry Association, Saturday, August 22, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., in the Environmental Building at the fairgrounds, Fair Avenue and Second St. West in Park Rapids.  You need not be a woodland owner to enjoy and learn from this program.  Topics discussed will be:  10 a.m. - Managing Woodlands for Wildlife; 11 a.m. - Small Woodland Forestry Options;  Noon - Lunch; 1 p.m. - Jack Pine - Past, Present and Future; 2 p.m. - Living “Firewise” in Forest, Brush or Grassland (Weather permitting, this last presentation will be outdoors at the nearby Park Rapids Area DNR Forestry and Wildlife grounds). Refreshments will be served.  Bring a lunch, eat out, or enjoy a Subway sandwich for $5, which will be ordered if you arrive by 10 a.m.
