Forestedge Winery hosted its annual art fair last weekend to crowds enjoying jazz, food, art and wine, of course.

The annual event north of Akeley features demonstrations and works of pottery, jewelry, porcelain, fiber art, leather, wood and paintings.

Unique wooden furniture dotted the winery lawn, a perfect complement to the zinnias, grapes and other crops flowering.

The festival was steamy Saturday, while Sunday’s celebration featured some drizzle and cooler weather.

“It’s such an idyllic show for the artists,” said an artist named Belva Shelhamer of Grand Rapids.

Free wine tasting and food accompanied the visual delights as hundreds of people strolled throughout the lush grounds.

Engaged couple Laura Stittsworth and Eric Heilman left a “best wishes” jar on their meat booth. It was filled to the brim with cash, even though the nuptials are set for 2015.
