Palmer Vaadeland

For 83 years now you can find Palmer Vaadeland at the Hubbard County Fair, monitoring the chicken livestock exhibits and offering any information he may have to interested people. Vaadeland first started at the fair when he did an exhbibit when he was five-years-old, and has been involved ever since. “I didn’t expect to be around this long, I’m 88 now,” Vaadeland said. “I just think it’s interesting working with the birds. Some kinds of chickens are different from others - just like people. Some have a nasty temperment, and some are nice.” Look for Vaadeland at his exhibit from 8 a.m. until around 10 p.m. until the fair ends.
