A Hubbard County family had to climb through a bedroom window of their mobile home early Tuesday morning to escape a fire.

The fire, on U.S. Highway 71, rekindled about 9 a.m., when Park Rapids firefighters called for more manpower and water from Menahga.

“It’s a total loss,” Park Rapids Fire Chief Donn Hoffman said of the mobile home.

The family was not injured during their escape.

The fire was on the Hubbard/Wadena county line. It started sometime after 6 a.m.

Hoffman said he would provide updated news after he visited the structure Wednesday.
