Lake Emma Township grant opportunity

Lake Emma Township is offering Healthy Lakes Partnership grants to organizations with a mission to preserve the quality of Lake Emma Township lakes and fish and wildlife habitat. The Healthy Lakes Partnership Grant Program provides funding to citizen-led lake and river improvement projects within Lake Emma Township.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2014 Lake Emma Township Healthy Lakes Partnership Grants. Funds are available to organizations, not private citizens. Funding for projects will be available through the grant program at a match of 2:1. For every $1 contributed by Lake Emma Township, the applicant must match 50 cents toward the project. The grantee match can include in-kind labor. The maximum grant dollars budgeted for 2014 will be $14,000. Projects must take place within Lake Emma Township.

Applications will be reviewed by the advisory board and resource specialists who will make recommendations for funding to the township board. Grant recipients will be notified following the April township board meeting.

Applications are due March 1, 2014. Application information is available at or by contacting Lynne Erickson, Township Clerk at 19785 Intrepid Rd, Park Rapids, MN 56470; email at or call 732-5578.
