Jingle Bells gala is Thursday, Dec. 12

Santa Claus will likely make an appearance again at this year’s Jingle Bells Gala at Century School Thursday, Dec. 12.

The 12th Annual “Jingle Bells Sweepstakes” wraps up with a Gala Thursday, Dec. 12 at Century School. Shoppers can win cash and prizes.

“This is an event where the business community gives back to local residents and says ‘Thank you for supporting us throughout the year,’” said Chamber Director Nicole Lalum. “With a grand prize of $5,000 cash and a multitude of other prizes to give away, it is definitely a kickstart to the Holiday Season!”

The Jingle Bells Sweepstakes, now in its 12th year, encourages people to explore the businesses and services in Park Rapids and the surrounding areas. Simply look for the “Jingle Bells Sweepstakes Participating Merchant” identification signs and ask what that merchant is doing for their sweepstakes ticket giveaways.

Tickets can be collected through today (Wednesday), Dec. 11, so get your last minute tickets today.

A Gala planned at the Century School Cafetorium for this Thursday, Dec. 12 beginning at 5 p.m. will feature a nominally priced soup and sandwich meal as well as entertainment and door prizes. The Girl Scouts will be selling baked goodies while ImagiNick will be doing magic tricks.

Butch DeLaHunt, DeLaHunt Broadcasting and a Chamber Board Member, will be emceeing the evening’s events. He will begin drawing tickets at 6 p.m. A live broadcast will be on KK Radio Network, KDKK-FM Star Station 97.5 and KPRM-AM 870, for those unable to attend.

Winning tickets will be published in the Saturday, Dec. 14 Enterprise and online at

Everyone is encouraged to bring all of their collected tickets and be present for the grand prize drawing held that evening. In 2012, approximately 400 people attended.
