WANTED: Young Panther fans to show their school spirit by cheering on Panther athletic teams, proudly wear their official Panther Cub Club t-shirt, and eager to be a future Panther all star.

The Panther Cub Club is entering its sixth season, initiated in 2007 by the Park Rapids Education and Activities Foundation and co-sponsored by Citizens National Bank. The club is open to all Panther fans grades pre-kindergarten through fourth grade. The goal of the Panther Cub Club is to put young Panther fans close to the action of all Panther athletic teams and give them the opportunity to interact with coaches and student athletes.

Membership benefits include free admission to all home Panther athletic events, a Panther Cub Club t-shirt, an official membership card, participation in student/athlete autograph signing nights, the opportunity to become a "Captain of the Game" for second through fourth graders, and other surprises.

Students in second through fourth grade who become "Captain of the Game" have the opportunity to meet the coaches and student athletes prior to a specified Panther home game, sit on the team bench during warm-ups, and have his or her name announced during the introductions before each home game. A special extra surprise will be waiting for the Panther Cub Club captains when they sign up to captain at a home sporting event.

Parents/guardians that would like to enroll their child in the Panther Cub Club must fill out a registration form along with a $5 fee. Look for the form in the district school mailing sent out in August. Additional forms are available at Citizens National Bank. Pre-registering will reserve a t-shirt and other membership items by the beginning of the school year.

Registration will also take place at the Century School Open House on Thursday, Aug. 30, from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Panther Cub Club booth. Call Steph Carlson at 252-1597 with questions.
