PANTHER POST: Softball coach has goals for spring season

Marion Goeden

Park Rapids softball head coach Marion Goeden is looking to have a good season. There are currently 14 girls on the team.

The team has four seniors, eight juniors and two sophomores.

Team goals for this season are to win five consecutive games, have a team batting average of .333, have a winning season, and be ranked in the top three in sections.

"I am hoping all season we have our claws out and no tails tucked, we are on the prowl," said Goeden.

According to Goeden, Thief River Falls is expected to be one of the team's top competitors this season. Ottertail Central and Warroad are also looking tough.

"I think we have good potential if we stay focused and believe in ourselves and each other," said junior Lizzy Vaudrin.

The team lost a few key players from last year. "We don't have quite as much experience but have a lot of talent in key positions, the spirit and unity is tighter this year and that will carry us a long ways," said Goeden.
