Investigation of Wahpeton teacher 'getting close' to completion
A Wahpeton School District investigation into a teacher accused of roughly handling two children will likely be completed early next week or after Christmas, Superintendent Rick Jacobson said on Wednesday.
“We’re getting close,” Jacobson said. “We’re just going to have to be patient.”
The investigation into Kelly McNary’s alleged actions is mostly finished, but all involved parties still need to have a meeting together, Jacobson said.
McNary was quickly put on paid administrative leave after he allegedly pushed two fifth-grade boys against a wall in gym class and made inappropriate comments to them, according to the school district’s attorney, Fred Strege.
Jacobson said the investigation will likely be completed next Monday, Tuesday or sometime after Christmas.
An investigation by Richland County Social Services into the alleged incident is expected to be completed shortly, Jacobson said.
