Community education

A variety of Community Education classes to engage muscles and minds of all ages.

Registration may be completed online at, by phone, 237-6600 and at the office in the Frank White Education Center.

Adult volleyball: Join us for a rousing volleyball match! This course is geared for volleyball players with some previous experience not beginning players. Must be 18 or older. Teams are formed based on who comes to play each night. Knee pads recommended - please bring your own. The cost is $1 per time which can be paid at class. This is held on Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 10 from 7-9 p.m. at the Century Middle School gym.

Ningxia Red: This contains many of the highest natural levels of vital, bioactive ingredients to improve health in every organ system. Join Ruth Ann Pachel as she shares what it can do for your body. This class will be held on today, Sept. 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the Frank White Education Center.

Tibetan Five Rites: The Tibetan Five Rites are 5 movement/postures that increase strength energy and over-all body balance. This class is inspired by the Peter Kelder book Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth. We will practice these moves and you will be given a handout so you can continue on your own. Wear soft comfortable clothing and bring a towel, blanket or yoga mat. If you previous attended this class you may join us for a refresher. Jody Ziemann will offer this class on Thursday, Sept. 11 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Frank White Education Center.

Essential oils: You have a starter kit, now what? Have you forgotten how to use each of the oils or why? This refresher class will discuss more in depth, each of the oils in the kit and how to use them. Ruth Ann Pachel will offer this class on Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 6-8 p.m. at the Frank White Education Center.

Microsoft Office: This program can do so much. If you have this on your computer, this class will help you use it to the full potential. Sign up for all or just the section you would like. Julie Dickie will offer Power Point on Thursday, September 18 and Microsoft Word on Thursday, Sept. 25 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Frank White Education Center.

Alzheimer’s Disease: Understanding Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of Dementia can be a confusing and difficult process. Join us as we discuss what the signs and symptoms are and how to communicate with your loved one as the Disease progresses. Laurel Hed and JoAnn Badge will offer this informational class on Tuesday, Sept. 16 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Frank White Education Center. There is no charge for this class but please pre-register.

Wellness Challenge: What do you have to lose? Join a fun and informative Wellness Challenge to help you reach your wellness goals!!! Discussions during this 6 week course include: nutritional topics meal planning and helpful tips and information on good nutrition and long-term health in a fun atmosphere. Participants give the instructor $20 the first day of class which will go into a prize pot. The one who loses the most body fat percentage will win part of the “Prize Pot,” which will be paid out on the last day of class. You will receive a free Body Analysis/Metabolism Test; weekly weigh-in and a weekly Nutrition Class. Information will be provided in handouts each week. Why not invest a few minutes a week in YOU? Added Bonus: for all class participants - 30 minute low impact exercise for all levels. Elisa Harmon will offer this class on Tuesdays, Sept. 16-Oct. 21 from 6-7 p.m. at the Frank White Education Center Gym.

Intermediate computer: You know how to turn on your computer, now what? This class will introduce Microsoft Office and how to utilize its programs. We will also create a simple word document, save documents and create folders. Shannon Barnett will offer this on Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Frank White Education Center.

Card Making: Peg has years of experience creating lovely cards. Learn tips and tricks from a real expert! This class is for beginners or for those with experience. During this hands-on class you will leave with three personalized cards. You will create different cards in each session. Peg Mosbo will offer this class on Thursday, Sept. 18 from 9-11 a.m. at the Frank White Education Center.

Ooey Gooey Night: Join the ECFE Staff for some very Ooey Gooey fun at the Frank White Education Center. There will be things to feel make and much more. Come dressed and ready for some messy fun! This will be a super opportunity for families to meet the ECFE staff other families and get ready for the fall ECFE classes. Hope to see you there! This event is for children birth to 5 years and families. You do not need to pre-register for this free event which will be Thursday, Sept. 18 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Frank White Education Center.
